Customer Service Representative - Patient Registration (PRN)

About the role

R1 is looking for a Customer Service Representative for patient registration at Ascension Sacred Heart Bay Diagnostic Imaging Center in Panama City Beach, Florida. The position is PRN (part time, as needed) with no fixed schedule; shifts vary by coverage needs and range from 8 to 12 hours, with rotating on-call duty. Holiday and weekend availability is required, and associates are cross-trained in multiple departments.

Key responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for patients, helping them check in and register efficiently across multiple computer systems
• Answer phones and gather accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Navigate insurance plans and coverage details, enter demographics and medical data, collect co-pays and give cost estimates when applicable
• Minimize registration delays so patients get timely access to care
• Work with nurses, physicians and care teams to keep patient flow smooth

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements
• Experience with patient access, medical registration, insurance verification or front desk is a plus but not required; training is provided
