Customer Service Representative - Patient Registration (PRN)

About the role

R1 is looking for a Customer Service Representative for patient registration at Ascension Sacred Heart Bay Diagnostic Imaging Center in Panama City Beach, Florida. The position is part-time and as needed (PRN), with no fixed schedule and shifts ranging from 8 to 12 hours. Availability for day, evening and overnight shifts, holidays and weekends, and for a rotating on-call schedule is required.

Key responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for patients, helping them check in and register efficiently across multiple computer systems
• Answer phones and gather accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Navigate insurance plans and coverage details, enter demographics and medical data, collect co-pays and give cost estimates when applicable
• Minimize delays in registration so patients get timely access to care
• Work with nurses, physicians and care teams to keep patient flow smooth

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements
• No healthcare background is required; training is provided
• Experience with patient access, medical registration, insurance verification or front desk is a plus
