Customer Service Representative - Patient Registration

About the role

R1 RCM Inc. is looking for a Customer Service Representative to support patient registration at a hospital or lab in Wichita. You will help patients check in, answer their questions and collect accurate information quickly while listening with compassion. No previous healthcare experience is needed; training is provided.

Key responsibilities

• Work on computers and answer phones to intake patient and insurance information in a busy environment.
• Collect details across multiple screens and enter them correctly between physician and nurse check-ins.
• Work across multiple programs and type quickly enough to keep up with patients.
• Work around clinicians interrupting the process for urgent clinical care.
• Listen carefully to anxious or very ill patients, ask follow-up questions and build rapport.
• Stand and move around to assist patients complete their registration.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Excellent customer service experience.
• Preferred: medical experience.
• Must be up to date on all vaccinations, pass a drug test and a background check before hire.
• Comfortable seeing illness and injuries in a hospital/lab setting.

Required skills

• Typing speed and accuracy.
• Phone answering.
• Quick learning of technology and multiple programs.

The base pay range is $14.50 - $18.99 per hour, depending on role, level, location, experience and education. The company states it offers a competitive benefits package.
