Customer Service Representative - Patient Registration (AM Part Time)

About the role

R1 RCM provides technology-driven solutions for hospitals, health systems and medical groups, and is hiring a Patient Access Representative (Customer Service Representative) at Ascension Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin, Texas. The role is part time, covering admissions on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 am to 9:00 pm, and serves as the first point of contact for patients. No healthcare background is required, as training is provided.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients and families with the check-in process and register them efficiently across multiple computer systems
• Answer phones and gather accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Minimize delays in registration and answer questions with confidence, clarity and compassion
• Navigate insurance plans and coverage details, enter demographics and medical data, collect co-pays and give cost estimates when applicable
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and care teams to keep patient flow smooth

Required profile

• Exceptional customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong composure and professionalism in a fast-paced setting, with the ability to multitask and prioritize
• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements
• Experience with patient access, medical registration, insurance verification or front desk is a plus but not required
