Curbside Lead

About the role

Meijer is hiring a Curbside Lead in its Southport Road store in Indianapolis. The role provides direction on operations, processes and conditions of the area, plans and guides team members in day-to-day work, sets an example through an exceptional customer experience and helps achieve department goals.

Key responsibilities

• Engage peers to give customers the best possible shopping experience, including an exceptional checkout experience.
• Communicate with team members and assign daily work tasks.
• Mentor and coach team members so customer service and sales goals are exceeded, the area meets Meijer standards and required trainings are completed.
• Support training of new team members and cross-training of high-potential talent, giving peer coaching on job responsibilities and standards.
• Work with leadership on department scheduling to improve team engagement, customer service, store sales and profitability.
• Monitor rotation and dating policies to keep products fresh, and guide the team in complying with food safety standards and working safely.
• Lead team members in ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing and product display where applicable.
• Support the Meijer culture, including diversity, equity and inclusion.
• Operate a register and handle cash when needed, operate powered equipment where applicable, and take part in period-end inventories where applicable.
• May be required to act in a lead capacity in other departments of the store.

Required profile

• Passion for customer service with approachability toward customers and teammates.
• Retail or other customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, bend and twist while handling product.
• Commitment to an inclusive environment where all team members and vendors feel valued.
