Culinary Intern – Seasonal Position at Discovery Land Company

About the role

Join the Food & Beverage – Culinary Department at Discovery Land Company’s Hamptons locations for a seasonal culinary internship. You will work from May 1 to October 1, 2027, gaining hands‑on experience across all kitchen stations while supporting the creation of memorable dining experiences for members and guests.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare menu items and daily specials according to specifications set by the Culinary Director or Executive Chef.
• Work rotating shifts across all outlets, covering stations such as prep, line, and plating.
• Maintain high food quality by following standard recipes and monitoring ingredient freshness.
• Assist with chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and preparing sauces.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks, including sweeping, cleaning counters, and garbage disposal.
• Stock and restock kitchen supplies throughout the day.
• Ensure compliance with all government, safety, health, and security standards.
• Inspect perishable items for expiration and report equipment issues promptly.
• Participate in department meetings and training sessions.

Required profile

• Enrolled in an accredited Culinary or Hospitality program affiliated with Discovery Land Co.
• At least six months of related back‑of‑house experience.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and ability to apply them.
• ServSafe certification.
• Safety‑conscious with strong attention to detail.
• Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and strong communication skills.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings.
