CT Scan Technologist Level II – Floater

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full‑time CT Scan Technologist Level II to float across multiple sites. The technologist will perform complex CT procedures, ensure high‑quality diagnostic images, and maintain radiation safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate scheduling and patient flow for inter‑departmental CT procedures.
• Perform and supervise diagnostic CT imaging studies under radiologist direction.
• Assist radiologists and researchers in developing new imaging protocols.
• Participate in research initiatives and help create research protocols.
• Monitor daily charging of CT procedures and supplies for accuracy.
• Demonstrate CT equipment during site visits and provide in‑service training.
• Verify orders, obtain consents, and ensure patient identification before scanning.
• Maintain aseptic technique and follow universal precautions.

Required profile

• Current staff, faculty, or temporary employee of the University of Miami (internal applicants use Workday).
• Independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in a fast‑paced clinical environment.
• Ability to integrate patient history, lab results, and imaging orders to adapt exams as needed.

Required skills

• CT scanner operation and computed tomography imaging.
• Radiation safety procedures and dose optimization.
• CT protocol development and adherence.
• Patient positioning and immobilization for CT exams.
• Equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
