CT Scan Technologist – Level I (Full‑Time)

About the role

The CT Scan Technologist – Level I performs complex CT procedures, ensuring high‑quality diagnostic images while minimizing radiation exposure. This full‑time position supports patient care, research, and education within the University of Miami Hospital Imaging Services.

Key responsibilities

• Operate CT scanners and related equipment to acquire diagnostic images following radiologist orders and radiation safety protocols.
• Supervise day‑to‑day modality operations in the absence of the Chief Technologist or Radiology Manager.
• Coordinate patient scheduling and flow for inter‑departmental procedures, including on‑call and weekend coverage.
• Assist radiologists with contrast administration, IV placement, and interventional CT procedures.
• Participate in research initiatives, protocol development, and training of new physicians and technologists.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology/Diagnostic Imaging program.
• State of Florida license as a General Radiographer, ARRT registration and certification in the primary modality.
• CPR and BLS certification.
• At least one year of relevant CT imaging experience.

Required skills

• Proficient operation of CT scanners and power injectors for contrast media.
• Knowledge of radiation safety procedures and dose optimization.
• Experience with PACS, UChart/Radiant charging systems, and electronic medical records.
• Ability to evaluate technical quality of CT images and label/ transmit studies appropriately.
