Crystal Assembly Operator - 2nd Shift

About the role

Kyocera AvX is hiring a Crystal Assembly Operator for its 2nd shift in Erie. The operator prepares quartz crystal and other materials within a range of product designs, using hand tools, small equipment and work instructions, and carries out quality checks to make sure the materials are free of damage and correctly assembled.

Key responsibilities

• Follow production and assembly instructions, parts lists, drawings and verbal instructions to assemble a wide range of products or components.
• Position components manually or with small hand tools such as crimpers, pliers, tweezers or screwdrivers, and occasionally operate simple equipment.
• Solder and de-solder components and parts when needed to finish the product or component.
• Conduct quality assurance checks to confirm materials meet specifications and are correctly assembled.
• Work at different work stations depending on production needs.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to concentrate for long periods on highly repetitive tasks.
• Preferred: IPC J-STD-001 certification for soldering electrical and electronic assemblies.

Required skills

• Ability to read and understand work instructions.
• Ability to solve basic math problems and read measuring devices.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and other software.
