Critical Care Technician – MICU (6NT)

About the role

The Critical Care Technician (CCT) works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at Froedtert Hospital. This part‑time, on‑site position provides age‑appropriate, culturally sensitive care to critically ill patients.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver delegated basic nursing and personal care tasks as defined in the competency assessment.
• Perform basic restorative services and critical‑care specific duties.
• Provide continuous safety observation when required.
• Report to the Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager and collaborate with RNs on each shift.
• Complete any additional duties assigned by supervisory staff.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Completion of a Critical Care Tech course (or equivalent) within six months of hire.
• State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification, or current enrollment in an accredited nursing program with proof of basic nursing coursework.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or equivalent) obtained within 90 days of hire.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
