Crisis Certification Reviewer (Atlanta)

About the role

The State of Georgia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Crisis Certification Reviewer to evaluate provider compliance with crisis services standards. This position involves statewide travel and supports the expansion of Crisis Stabilization Units and Behavioral Health Crisis Centers.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct compliance surveys of providers, focusing on crisis services and Adult Residential Mental Health Programs.
• Prepare detailed findings, reports, and corrective action plans based on evidence and data analysis.
• Serve as a subject‑matter expert in counseling, nursing, or behavior and may lead review teams.
• Provide technical assistance to providers regarding policies, rules, and regulations.
• Travel statewide up to 50% to perform onsite reviews and risk assessments.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, behavior analysis, or related field.
• Knowledge of DBHDD crisis services, especially CSU/BHCCs, and experience with Adult Residential Mental Health Programs.
• Professional licensure or credentialing in a related field (e.g., nursing, social work, quality management) is preferred.
