Crane & Hoist Technician

About the role

The Crane & Hoist Technician is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of industrial crane systems. You will work on a variety of equipment, including overhead cranes, gantry systems, and hoists, collaborating with a global team of innovative 3M professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electrical and mechanical preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on overhead cranes, gantry systems, CM hoists, jibs, and jib hoists.
• Document all work performed in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Operate aerial and platform lifts safely while working at heights of 30 feet or more.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
• Conduct routine inspections and corrective maintenance to meet safety standards.

Required profile

• At least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma/GED (or higher).
• Minimum three years of industrial maintenance experience.
• 2‑4 years of experience specifically with overhead cranes, gantry systems, or hoist equipment.
• Ability to work safely in aerial or scissor lifts at heights of 30 ft or higher.
• Associate degree or technical certification in crane/hoist, industrial mechanical, HVAC, or related field (preferred).
• Crane inspector certification or training (preferred).
