About the role

Hy-Vee is hiring a Courtesy Clerk in Windom. The role helps customers from the register to their car, keeps the store clean and stocked, and supports the team wherever it is needed. No education or experience is required, and all training is provided.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly, learn their names and make every visit a good one
• Package purchases and help customers transport them to their vehicle
• Bring carts from the parking lot and cart corrals during the shift
• Clean registers, restrooms, break room and backroom, and sweep and mop floors
• Clean the can redemption area and empty recycle bins where applicable
• Stock, face and rotate merchandise, clean shelves, read shelf tags and pull products forward
• Check prices, maintain front-end supplies such as bags and receipt paper, and deliver product to customers
• Train new courtesy clerks and help in all departments as requested
• Shovel, salt and sand walkways as needed, and take on special projects
• Follow dress standards, hygiene and store policies, and report to work on time

Required profile

• No education or experience required
• Able to follow written or verbal instructions and work as part of a team
• Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures and count accurately
• Physical: frequent standing and walking, and where applicable, using sharp knives and handling heat and burn hazards

What we offer

• Anticipated hourly starting wage of $11.41 to $14.00 depending on experience
• Training provided
• Employment is contingent on passing a pre-employment drug screen
