About the role
The County Extension Agent – Agriculture delivers educational programs to county residents focusing on agriculture and 4‑H youth development. This role serves as a primary liaison between the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture and local communities, fostering participation and support for extension initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement, and evaluate agricultural and 4‑H educational programs for county audiences.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of Arkansas Extension programs and county social, economic, and political characteristics.
- Act as an effective liaison with local community leaders, agencies, and government officials.
- Solicit and coordinate support and participation from stakeholders across the county.
- Provide guidance and resources to 4‑H youth participants and their families.
Required profile
- Strong understanding of the county’s social, economic, and political landscape.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a broad audience, including community leaders and the public.
