Cost Engineer – Hybrid (Buffalo, NY)

About the role

Moog is seeking a detail‑oriented Cost Engineer to join its Space and Defense Group. The position operates on a hybrid schedule, primarily based in Buffalo, NY, with occasional work in East Aurora, NY or Salt Lake City, UT. You will support cost proposals for government and commercial customers, ensuring compliance with Moog policies and Federal Acquisition Regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead proposal teams and develop pricing models based on RFPs and Moog requirements.
• Analyze, evaluate, coordinate, and prepare cost proposals.
• Review RFPs for compliance with customer specifications and company policy.
• Ensure Moog Estimating System compliance and interpret RFP requirements.
• Present cost estimates to management, customers, and audit agencies.
• Support audit requests, negotiations, and the program budget baseline process.
• Develop cost and pricing models for front‑end business acquisition.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in cost engineering or a related discipline.
• Ability to access U.S. export‑controlled information.
• Practical knowledge of sales and costing principles.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
