Corporate Controller

About the role

Areté Health, a private‑equity‑backed outpatient rehabilitation provider, is looking for a hands‑on Corporate Controller to build and lead a best‑in‑class accounting function. Reporting to the Vice President of FP&A and working closely with the CEO and the PE sponsor’s CFO, you will ensure accurate, GAAP‑compliant financial reporting while supporting rapid growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual close process and produce financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Manage the general ledger, journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations and balance‑sheet integrity.
• Maintain the chart of accounts and oversee Sage (or comparable ERP) system administration.
• Develop, document and enforce accounting policies and procedures.
• Direct and supervise external accounting partners, ensuring timely month‑end close and continuous process improvement.
• Oversee daily cash management, banking relationships, bank reconciliations, ACH/wire transactions and treasury controls.

Required profile

• Experienced senior accounting professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, private‑equity‑backed environment.
• Proven ability to build scalable accounting processes that support rapid organizational growth.
• Strong collaboration skills with finance, operations and executive leadership.

Required skills

• U.S. GAAP knowledge.
• Proficiency with Sage ERP or comparable accounting systems.
• Expertise in cash management and treasury controls.
• Experience managing outsourced accounting teams.
