Corporate Controller

About the role

The Corporate Controller will be the second‑in‑command of the finance function, reporting directly to the CFO. This senior position combines hands‑on accounting leadership with strategic financial planning for a privately held, $50M revenue company in Vero Beach.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month‑end close.
• Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
• Partner with the CFO on financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and organizational initiatives.
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls, policies, and procedures.
• Manage external audits and coordinate with auditors and advisors.
• Identify and implement process improvements to support scalability.
• Provide insights and reporting to support executive decision‑making.
• Build, mentor, and develop the accounting team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred).
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibility.
• Prior experience in a #2 finance role or readiness to step into one.
• Experience in a privately held or middle‑market company environment.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.

Required skills

• ERP system experience.
• Advanced Excel skills.
