Core Facility Research Specialist 2

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center seeks a Core Facility Research Specialist 2 to support the Onco-Genomics Shared Resource. This full‑time position involves hands‑on molecular biology work and coordination with investigators and shared‑resource staff.

Key responsibilities

• Perform NGS library preparation, sequencing, and data handover.
• Conduct single‑cell sample quality control, capture, and stabilization.
• Load and monitor spatial biology platforms (GeoMx, CosMx, Visium CytAssist).
• Extract nucleic acids and assess quality.
• Track and process project requests, interpret assay performance, and generate reports.
• Serve as liaison for equipment maintenance, compliance, ordering, and inventory management.

Required profile

• Laboratory experience in molecular biology.
• Familiarity with NGS modalities such as single‑cell or metagenomics (preferred).
• Experience with any of the listed instrumentation is advantageous.

• Nucleic acid extraction and quality assessment.
