Coordinator, Disability Services & Special Populations

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Coordinator to lead Disability Services and support Special Populations at a college campus. This role ensures that students with disabilities and those meeting special‑population criteria receive appropriate accommodations, auxiliary aids, and comprehensive support throughout their academic journey.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize, implement, and assess support services for students with disabilities and special‑population students.
• Serve as the Title II, Section 504, Section 508, and ADA Coordinator for the institution.
• Evaluate disability documentation, determine eligibility, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies.
• Create, monitor, and communicate individual accommodation plans to faculty and staff.
• Manage Perkins Disability Services funds and coordinate sign‑language interpreter services.
• Provide assistive technology, including setup, training, and loan of equipment such as screen‑reader software.
• Proctor exams, administer approved testing accommodations, and oversee exam monitoring.
• Maintain accurate records in the Student Accommodation Manager system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Minimum two years of experience in a secondary or post‑secondary education environment.
• Strong knowledge of ADA, Section 504, and Section 508 regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential student information with professionalism.
