About the role

Amentum is seeking a Cook I in the Williamsburg area of Virginia. The cook assists in preparing food for breakfast, lunch or dinner, delivering quality food and pleasing presentations while meeting food handling and quality assurance standards. The role supports the company's mission, core values, standards and goals.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and interact with guests warmly and professionally, and communicate guest requests to kitchen leadership in a timely way.
• Prepare all food items as directed, following recipes and accommodating special guests' requests.
• Set up hot and cold line stations according to specifications.
• Wash dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, pans and trays, and keep the pantry and coolers clean and organized.
• Clean countertops and walls, mop floors, segregate and remove trash, and sort recyclables.
• Maintain a neat, organized work area and a professional appearance, complying with state sanitation standards and health codes.
• Order goods as needed, report accidents, injuries and unsafe conditions, and follow safety rules and company policies.
• Attend training and meetings as directed and perform other assigned tasks, including cross-training.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license and U.S. or naturalized citizenship.
• Culinary degree or related training equivalent in the hospitality/restaurant industry.
• One year of relevant work experience in a similar scope and title; experience in luxury brands/markets preferred.
• Ability to work well as part of a group and carry out tasks with all necessary detail.
• Valid government-issued clearance at the time of application.
