Cook for Educational Programs in Jackson, WY

About the role

Teton Science Schools is seeking a Cook to prepare high‑quality, safe, and satisfying meals for participants and staff across its Jackson‑area campuses. The role supports community building, sustainability, and memorable learning experiences through food.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals using a full range of cooking methods while adhering to menus, dietary guidelines, and cost controls.
• Apply food safety, sanitation, and health‑code practices to maintain a safe dining environment.
• Determine portion sizes for different age groups and program needs to minimize waste.
• Support food ordering, inventory control, and proper storage.
• Communicate warmly with staff, AmeriCorps members, and participants to ensure a positive dining experience.
• Collaborate on sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement of kitchen operations.

Required profile

• ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain).
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certification (or ability to obtain).
• Experience in a commercial kitchen, preferably high‑volume meal preparation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime.

Required skills

• ServSafe food safety knowledge.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED emergency response skills.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, etc.).
• Commercial kitchen operations, including inventory control and culinary math.
