Controls Engineer – Building Automation Systems

About the role

The Controls Engineer will design, program, commission, and maintain Building Automation Systems (BAS) and HVAC control solutions for commercial, industrial, and mission‑critical facilities. You will collaborate with project managers, customers, contractors, and internal teams to deliver high‑quality control systems from concept through ongoing support.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop BAS control solutions for HVAC equipment, including air handling units, chillers, boilers, VAV systems, pumps, and cooling towers.
• Program, configure, and commission systems using Delta Controls, Johnson Controls (JCI), and the Niagara Framework (N4).
• Create control sequences, graphics, alarms, trends, and system integrations; perform point‑to‑point verification, startup, and functional testing.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, communication networks, and field devices; provide technical support during installation, startup, and warranty periods.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, programming backups, commissioning reports, and as‑built records; support scheduling and field coordination.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Computer Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in HVAC controls, building automation, or controls engineering.
• Proven experience with Delta Controls, Johnson Controls (JCI), Niagara Framework, BACnet and Modbus protocols.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and construction documents.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities with excellent written and verbal communication.
