Controller – Senior Finance Leader for High‑Growth SaaS

About the role

The Controller will serve as a senior finance leader for a fast‑growing aerospace and defense SaaS company. Reporting directly to the CFO, the role oversees all accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls as the business scales from $60M to over $150M ARR.

Key responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly and annual close process for global entities, compressing cycle times as revenue grows.
• Prepare and review consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, including ASC 606 revenue recognition for SaaS and government contracts.
• Manage multi‑currency consolidation, intercompany eliminations and statutory reporting for international subsidiaries.
• Lead the annual audit, build audit‑readiness infrastructure and support future IPO or liquidity events.
• Oversee GL, AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, equity and deferred revenue functions.
• Design and maintain a SOX‑aligned internal control framework and ensure compliance with DFARS, FAR, ITAR/EAR and international tax requirements.
• Drive ERP and finance‑tech stack optimization, preferably NetSuite, and integrate tools such as Stripe, Maxio/Chargebee, Salesforce CPQ and Carta.

Required profile

• Senior‑level finance professional with experience in high‑growth SaaS or technology companies.
• Proven track record managing complex accounting operations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Experience preparing financial statements for public‑market readiness and handling audits.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606, ASC 350‑40, ASC 718 and SOX compliance.
