Controller – Private Equity Finance Leader

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Controller (CPA) to lead core accounting operations for a private‑equity‑backed organization in Nashville, Tennessee. The role is ideal for a finance leader who thrives in a multi‑location environment and can bring structure, accuracy, and insight to reporting and close activities.

Key responsibilities

• Direct day‑to‑day accounting operations and ensure timely, accurate month‑end close.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and supporting analysis for leadership.
• Oversee accounting processes across multiple locations, maintaining consistent controls and reporting standards.
• Partner with senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow oversight, and broader financial planning.
• Support private‑equity reporting requirements with reliable financial data and analysis.
• Contribute to mergers, acquisitions, and post‑deal integration activities, including process alignment and reporting setup.
• Leverage Sage Intacct, Power BI, and bill.com to strengthen reporting capabilities and workflow efficiency.

Required profile

• 9+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including leadership responsibility.
• Proven success managing month‑end close, financial reporting, and general accounting in a complex environment.
• Experience in a private‑equity‑backed company is strongly preferred.
• Background supporting organizations with multiple locations and decentralized operations.
• Familiarity with M&A integration or implementation after a transaction.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
