Controller – Accounting & Finance Lead

About the role
An established organization is seeking a Controller to lead onsite accounting operations at its Memphis location. You will partner closely with the General Manager and a centralized shared services team, providing financial insight and driving process improvements.
Key responsibilities
- Manage all site‑level accounting functions, including general ledger oversight and financial reporting.
- Prepare and post journal entries, supporting payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processed by shared services.
- Partner with site leadership to deliver financial insights for operational decision‑making.
- Maintain accurate inventory and cost accounting records.
- Execute monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
- Utilize Excel for analysis, reporting, and reconciliations.
- Support process improvements and potential team expansion as business needs evolve.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 8 years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior accountant or accounting manager role.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
- Cost accounting or inventory experience is a plus.
- Advanced Excel proficiency.
- Experience with ERP systems preferred.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse‑adjacent environment with a private office.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
