Controller – Accounting & Finance Lead

About the role

An established organization is seeking a Controller to lead onsite accounting operations at its Memphis location. You will partner closely with the General Manager and a centralized shared services team, providing financial insight and driving process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all site‑level accounting functions, including general ledger oversight and financial reporting.
• Prepare and post journal entries, supporting payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processed by shared services.
• Partner with site leadership to deliver financial insights for operational decision‑making.
• Maintain accurate inventory and cost accounting records.
• Execute monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
• Utilize Excel for analysis, reporting, and reconciliations.
• Support process improvements and potential team expansion as business needs evolve.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 8 years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior accountant or accounting manager role.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
• Cost accounting or inventory experience is a plus.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with ERP systems preferred.
• Comfortable working in a warehouse‑adjacent environment with a private office.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
