Contract Specialist – Hybrid

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Supply Chain department is seeking a full‑time Contract Specialist to work in a hybrid setting in Hialeah, FL. The role supports the preparation, administration, and compliance of contract proposals for equipment, materials, products, and services.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in drafting contractual provisions and managing contract proposals.
• Support senior contract specialists in preparing bids and negotiating specifications with suppliers, partners, or customers.
• Participate in developing and fulfilling contract requirements for purchases and sales.
• Evaluate contract compliance and advise stakeholders on contractual rights and obligations.
• Request or approve amendments and extensions to contract terms.
• Review new and continuing contracts to ensure alignment with legal guidelines, contracting principles, and cost constraints.
• Research federal, state, and local laws affecting bids, agreements, and contracts.
• Coordinate day‑to‑day administrative activities of the Contract Administration department and track agreements through the request‑to‑signature lifecycle.
• Interface with internal clients and external parties via phone and email, summarizing and disseminating contract submissions.
• Prepare executive summaries and draft contract documents as needed.

Required profile

• Ability to evaluate contract compliance and advise on contractual obligations.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local legal requirements affecting contracts.
• Strong attention to detail in reviewing contract terms and conditions.
