About the role

BARBRI is seeking experienced legal educators, attorneys, and assessment writers to create high‑quality multiple‑choice questions for the NextGen Bar Exam. This part‑time, limited‑term independent contractor position allows you to work remotely while shaping the future of bar‑exam preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Draft NextGen‑style multiple‑choice questions that assess application of foundational legal concepts in realistic fact patterns.
• Develop clear answer explanations and legally sound distractors that reflect common errors in reasoning.
• Ensure content aligns with learning objectives, subject‑matter specifications, and the exam blueprint.
• Revise and refine questions based on feedback from BARBRI content experts and editors.
• Maintain accuracy, consistency, and quality while meeting production deadlines.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA‑accredited U.S. law school and successful passage of a U.S. bar exam.
• Strong knowledge of foundational legal doctrine and ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
• Excellent written communication, attention to detail, and commitment to content quality.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and follow detailed editorial guidelines.
• Professional responsiveness to feedback and collaborative review processes.
