Contract Accountant

About the role

Rilla is seeking a Contract Accountant to join its Finance team and own core accounting processes, drive financial close, and build internal controls and reporting infrastructure. This hands‑on role will shape how the company scales its financial systems.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with month‑end, quarter‑end, and annual close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Manage revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP for subscription and multi‑period arrangements.
• Oversee accounts payable, accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets.
• Support financial statements, internal management reports, and annual audits.
• Drive finance system implementations, workflow automation, cash flow management, and forecasting.
• Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience at an accounting firm, preferably with SaaS clients.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP accounting practices.
• Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to work hands‑on in a fast‑paced environment.
• Customer‑obsessive mindset and ability to thrive on feedback and continuous learning.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with QuickBooks and NetSuite.
• Advanced spreadsheet and financial modeling skills.
• Knowledge of GAAP accounting practices.
