Construction Technician

About the role

As a Construction Technician at Tesla, you will support new construction and facility improvement projects at the Sparks Factory and surrounding sites. The position is physically demanding and requires strict adherence to safety standards while performing a variety of hands‑on tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Tool Install Management team on demolition, drilling, painting, framing, and other improvement projects.
• Load and unload materials, operate tools, mobile equipment, and machinery safely.
• Measure, layout, and secure metal stock, fixtures, and tools; dispose of waste material responsibly.
• Exchange technical information, evaluate machining procedures, and suggest efficiency improvements.
• Plan production procedures, dismantle/repair machines, and install new equipment.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience in construction, tenant improvement, or facility maintenance.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to read work orders and request clarification.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality of finished work.
• Proven knowledge of job‑site safety, hazard evaluation, and pre‑work planning.
• Capability to work at heights up to 80 ft and use fall‑protection equipment.

Required skills

• Experience with paint, epoxy, concrete, Unistrut, and metal materials.
• Proficiency in operating hand and power tools, mobile equipment, and machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
• Competence in safety inspections and use of fall‑protection harnesses.
