Construction Supervisor

About the role

The Construction Supervisor leads daily field operations for telecom construction projects, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in line with client specifications and industry regulations. Acting as the bridge between project management and field crews, this role guarantees high‑quality results on schedule and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and lead crews on business and residential telecom builds, including aerial, underground, and OSP/ISP projects.
• Coordinate daily work plans, assign tasks, and monitor progress to meet project milestones.
• Conduct pre‑construction walk‑throughs and site inspections for safety, quality, and design compliance.
• Manage subcontractor performance and verify work against scope and contracts.
• Communicate updates, challenges, and resource needs to project managers, construction managers, and clients.
• Enforce OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies; lead safety meetings.
• Track material usage, equipment deployment, and labor hours for reporting and cost control.
• Review construction drawings, redlines, and as‑builts for field accuracy.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate crew members; ensure proper tools, vehicles, and equipment are available.
• Approve timesheets, vehicle inspections, and final invoices before payment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, telecommunications, or related field preferred.
• 3‑5 years of telecom experience (fiber, coax, copper, or wireless) with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
• Strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Telecom infrastructure knowledge (fiber splicing, conduit systems, pole attachments, sub‑surface construction).
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, maps, and specifications.
• Proficiency with field reporting tools, project management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
