About the role
AECOM is seeking a Construction Superintendent to lead day‑to‑day site operations on a large, complex public‑assembly construction project. The role is responsible for driving safety, quality, schedule, logistics and trade coordination in a fast‑paced environment.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, sequence and supervise self‑perform and subcontractor work to meet safety, quality and schedule objectives.
- Develop and maintain 3–6 week look‑ahead schedules, coordinate long‑lead items and remove roadblocks.
- Run daily coordination meetings, ensuring field installation aligns with design, shop drawings and BIM models.
- Implement inspection and test plans (ITPs), conduct first‑work inspections, mock‑ups and hold points; manage punch‑list closure.
- Oversee site logistics including access, laydown, hoisting, crane operations, deliveries, waste/recycling and traffic control.
- Identify constructability issues early, support RFI/ASI documentation and field change processes.
- Collaborate with project manager, design teams, commissioning agents, authorities having jurisdiction, venue operators and client representatives.
- Coordinate heavy MEP trades, equipment start‑up, testing‑and‑balancing and life‑safety system readiness.
- Maintain daily reports, safety logs, inspection records, delivery tickets, as‑builts, redlines and photographic documentation.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, fire protection, acoustics, accessibility and crowd‑management requirements.
- Drive phased inspections, system demonstrations, O&M turnover, training and final punch completion.
Required profile
- Proven experience leading site operations on large, complex construction projects.
- Strong ability to coordinate multiple trades and stakeholders in a high‑visibility environment.
- Demonstrated focus on safety, quality and schedule performance.
Required skills
- BIM coordination and model review.
- Construction scheduling and look‑ahead planning.
- Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) implementation.
- MEP trade coordination.
- Logistics management (site access, crane operations, waste handling).
- Knowledge of building codes, fire protection, accessibility and crowd‑management standards.
