Construction Superintendent – Higher Education Projects

About the role

AECOM Hunt is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on a new higher‑education campus project in Arlington, Texas. You will oversee the site from mobilization through closeout, ensuring safety, quality, schedule adherence, and client satisfaction on a complex, multi‑phase campus build.

Key responsibilities

• Direct daily site activities, coordinating trades, logistics, and campus interfaces.
• Maintain a strong safety culture and enforce quality control while meeting schedule and budget targets.
• Serve as the primary field contact for clients, campus stakeholders, inspectors, and design partners.
• Develop look‑ahead schedules, sequence work, and manage coordination with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Implement site access, pedestrian and traffic control, noise/vibration mitigation, and utility shutdown planning on occupied campuses.
• Oversee punch‑list management and closeout documentation.
• Supervise complex MEP systems, HVAC balancing, fire/life safety testing, and building automation integration.
• Prepare daily reports, RFIs, field memos, change order inputs, and as‑built records while supporting cost and risk controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant construction experience, including at least 4 years as a superintendent on higher‑education or campus projects.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams on large, occupied‑site projects.
