Construction Superintendent – Field Leadership

About the role
The Superintendent leads construction projects from start‑up through close‑out, ensuring safety, quality, schedule and budget targets are met. This role coordinates field teams, subcontractors and owners to deliver successful project outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise multiple construction projects across a large geographic area.
- Develop and maintain CPM job schedules and ensure adherence.
- Recruit, train, direct and coordinate field construction teams and subcontractors.
- Enforce safety procedures, attend safety training, and verify subcontractor insurance certificates.
- Order materials and tools, plan supply allotments, and avoid crisis purchasing.
- Prepare and submit time sheets, work orders, daily reports and invoice approvals.
- Review drawings, specifications and subcontractor submittals; chair pre‑job conferences and regular meetings.
- Perform start‑up testing, turnover to owner, and document final close‑out and owner acceptance.
- Complete punch‑list items promptly and handle occasional manual work when required.
Required profile
- Engineering, Construction Management or Architectural degree, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum four years as an Assistant Superintendent or equivalent supervisory field experience.
- Current Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certification or ability to obtain within six months.
- Working knowledge of all trades, ability to read specifications, and prior experience as foreman, journeyman or project engineer.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, job scheduling, planning, expediting and cost control.
