Construction Superintendent – Federal Projects

About the role

The Construction Superintendent will oversee all on‑site activities for federal construction projects, ensuring safety, schedule adherence, quality, and budget compliance. Travel to various project sites is required.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyze construction documents, drawings, specifications, and safety plans.
• Coordinate and inspect subcontractor work for compliance with contract requirements.
• Identify and resolve RFIs, field changes, and other issues promptly.
• Manage equipment utilization, material deliveries, and manpower allocation.
• Support project close‑out, punch‑list management, and turnover procedures.
• Document daily site activities, progress, inspections, delays, and weather conditions with narratives and photos.
• Conduct regular tool‑talk meetings to keep the team aligned with schedule and specifications.
• Identify safety concerns, enforce accident‑prevention plans, and maintain site safety standards.
• Assist with schedule updates, progress reports, and look‑ahead planning.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 + years continuous experience in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of building construction methods, scheduling, cost control, and contract documents.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain/maintain security clearance.
• OSHA certification required; USACE CQM and EM385 preferred or willingness to obtain.
• CPR & First Aid certification.
