Construction Steel Erection Services Project Manager

About the role

Span Construction & Engineering, Inc. seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead steel erection services projects. The role involves overseeing project organization, budgeting, scheduling, and execution while ensuring safety, quality, and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Review contracts, project scope, and hand‑off materials to understand budget and schedule.
• Coordinate with estimators, clients, subcontractors, superintendents, and consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage procurement of labor, equipment, and materials; write subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Conduct pre‑construction meetings, monitor progress, prepare progress billings, and authorize invoices.
• Perform final walk‑through with client, address punch‑list items, and ensure project close‑out.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Project Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of construction management experience on commercial/industrial turn‑key projects.
• At least 3 years drafting and managing owner and subcontractor contracts and change orders.
• Strong knowledge of pre‑engineered steel building structures (PEMB) and all sub‑trades.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Project, and Word.
• Experience with Smartsheet (preferred) and SAGE 300 project‑management/accounting integration.
• Ability to read and interpret construction and vendor drawings.
