Construction Resident Engineer – Bridge Inspection (NICET IV)

About the role

Prudent Engineering is seeking a Construction Resident Engineer (Level IV) with bridge inspection experience to oversee bridge construction projects in the Rochester, NY area, starting August or September 2026. The role involves ensuring projects comply with plans, specifications, and regulations while coordinating with contractors and agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect bridge construction at various stages to verify compliance with design and safety standards.
• Coordinate with New York State DOT, Thruway authorities, and contractors to resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and reports using computer‑aided project administration tools.

Required profile

• NICET IV certification or equivalent bridge‑construction experience.
• Prior NYS DOT or Thruway inspection experience on bridge projects.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to construction sites in the Jamestown area.

Required skills

• NICET Level IV certification.
• ACI Certified.
• OSHA 10 certification and strong knowledge of construction safety practices.
• Proficiency with computer‑aided project administration (e.g., CAD, project management software).
