Construction Inspector – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

H&H is seeking a Construction Inspector to join its Construction Engineering & Inspection Group in Baton Rouge, LA. The successful candidate will support roadway and bridge rehabilitation projects by ensuring work complies with plans, specifications, and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and special requirements.
• Apply mathematical formulas and engineering principles to field‑measure quantities and calculate work completed.
• Prepare clear Daily Inspection Reports documenting manpower, materials, equipment, and measured quantities.
• Operate field inspection equipment and communicate findings effectively.

Required profile

• DOTD certification in Structural (or related PCCP, Embankment certifications).
• Minimum two years of experience with roadway or bridge rehabilitation/reconstruction.
• Experience with pavement reconstruction, drainage, lighting, traffic signals, asphalt milling/paving, utility relocation, concrete & steel demolition, reinforced concrete repair, steel erection, and work‑zone traffic control.
• Willingness to obtain additional certifications such as HeadLight Fieldbook, SiteManager Daily Reporting, OSHA 10‑hour Construction Safety, and WZTC.
