Construction Estimator

About the role

Ironmark Building Co., an award‑winning commercial general contractor, is seeking a Construction Estimator to support its Phoenix‑area projects. The role focuses on accurate cost estimation for wood‑frame and other commercial construction work, ensuring competitive bids and strong subcontractor relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate labor, equipment, and material costs for commercial construction and remodel projects.
• Review drawings and specifications to determine quantities and develop pricing.
• Coordinate subcontractor bids, prepare bid invitations, review scopes, and schedule site visits.
• Communicate with low bidders, ensure bid completeness, and develop bid presentations.
• Maintain positive relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, qualifying new partners as needed.
• Participate in pre‑bid meetings and prepare project documentation, schedules, and material release plans.
• Present estimates to owners and architects when required.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of estimating experience on commercial construction projects, both public and private.
• Experience with hard bids and a strong passion for commercial construction.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret plans and specifications within bid timelines.
• Proficiency in meeting bid deadlines and communicating effectively with contractors.
• Degree or certification in Estimating, Construction Management, or Architecture is strongly preferred.

Required skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with On‑screen take‑off or comparable estimating software.
• Ability to perform material take‑offs and cost estimates.
