Construction Associate

About the role

Bellwether is seeking an Associate to join its construction management team. The role involves overseeing development and construction projects across client portfolios, coordinating with partners, consultants, and asset management teams, and handling direct client‑facing responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Support construction and asset management teams on deals involving construction or capital‑expenditure projects.
• Analyze construction progress, identify risks, opportunities, and concerns.
• Prepare comprehensive cost and design review reports for development projects.
• Research market trends related to material and labor costs.
• Conduct monthly site visits for debt deals and prepare monitoring reports.
• Manage lender draw and pay‑application processes with clients and asset management teams.
• Liaise with operating partners, borrowers, and asset management leaders to ensure business‑plan execution.
• Assess re‑engineering options to balance cost, schedule, and project integrity.
• Develop institutional knowledge through case studies and internal project databases.
• Oversee successful completion of construction projects within client portfolios.
• Contribute to the improvement of reporting functions within the construction team.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Background in general contracting, development, construction management, architecture, or engineering preferred.
• Client‑facing experience preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with Adobe Acrobat.
• Familiarity with BlueBeam software.
