Condition Monitoring Analyst

About the role

The Condition Monitoring Analyst supports the Credit Risk Management and Reserves Unit (CRMR) of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. In this role you will analyze financial data of Fifth District banks and credit unions to assess credit risk and provide recommendations that help protect the Reserve Bank and the broader payment system.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze quarterly financial data and supervisory reports to identify credit risk presented by institutions using Federal Reserve payment services.
• Conduct predefined and ad‑hoc analyses to highlight trends, outliers, and emerging risks.
• Evaluate institution performance to support credit‑risk mitigation activities and implementation of payment‑system policy.
• Prepare and present risk analysis to CRMR staff, supervision and regulation teams, and senior Reserve Bank management.
• Provide analytical support to the Credit Management and Collateral teams within CRMR.
• Communicate risk findings to external banking and credit‑union supervisors.

Required profile

• Experience analyzing quarterly financial data of banks and credit unions.
• Ability to interpret supervisory reports and regulatory information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting risk analysis.
