Compliance Helper / Technician – Petroleum Storage

About the role
Join Nwestco LLC as a Compliance Helper or Technician, performing testing, inspections, and monitoring of petroleum storage and dispensing systems. You will ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations while working on‑site at customer locations throughout the Northwest and Rockies.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct testing, inspections, and monitoring of USTs, ASTs, piping, sensors, and leak detectors.
- Perform annual, periodic, and post‑repair compliance testing such as line and tank tightness, ATG functionality, overfill protection, and spill containment.
- Inspect and verify leak detection, interstitial monitoring, cathodic protection, and vapor recovery systems.
- Prepare and submit detailed compliance reports, test results, and documentation for clients and regulatory agencies.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, compliance logs, and permit documents.
- Collaborate with service technicians and contractors to identify and correct non‑compliant conditions.
- Calibrate and maintain testing equipment, ensuring traceability and reliability of results.
- Participate in safety meetings and follow all company policies related to hazardous materials, confined spaces, and spill prevention.
Required profile
- Technicians must hold API Safety, Franklin Forecourt Safety, and Mastery Modules certifications.
- Helpers are expected to obtain within six months: ICC Service Tech/UT, Vapor Testing and Repair (VT), Vapor Installation (VI), SJVAPCD Vapor Testing, SCAQMD Testing, and Veeder‑Root ATG certifications.
- Experience performing compliance testing or inspections on petroleum storage and dispensing systems.
- Familiarity with EPA UST/AST regulations, SPCC plans, and related environmental compliance programs.
- Experience preparing regulatory documentation and test reports for internal records or government submission.
Required skills
- Use of line testers, pressure gauges, conductivity meters, and LLD test kits.
- Calibration and maintenance of compliance testing equipment.
- Statistical Inventory Reconciliation (SIR) testing procedures.
- Pressure testing and cathodic protection evaluation.
