Competitive Intelligence Consultant, Strategy/Life Sciences

About the role

IQVIA, a global provider of clinical research services, commercial insights and healthcare intelligence, is hiring a Competitive Intelligence Consultant for its strategy and life sciences practice. The consultant delivers high-quality, timely input to client solutions for the pharmaceutical and related industries, ranging from basic analysis to helping lead small teams. The role involves serving as the day-to-day manager of projects and working closely with clients.

Key responsibilities

• Identify strategic alternatives and project approaches to client questions
• Conduct primary and secondary research and independent desk research using internal and external sources
• Analyze clinical data and attend medical and commercial conferences to speak with delegates and experts
• Interview external experts by phone or in person
• Perform qualitative (scientific, clinical, commercial) and quantitative analyses
• Create sections of reports, presentations, workshops and other client deliverables under the guidance of experienced team leaders
• Communicate findings and recommendations, and assist with business development and proposals
• Manage and develop the career and skills of staff, and lead some learning, development and recruiting programs

Required profile

• PhD or PharmD required
• 2 or more years of relevant experience, specifically in oncology
• Prior experience or strong interest in healthcare and life sciences
• Some project management experience preferred
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally about 30% of the time

Required skills

• Analytical, interpretative and problem-solving skills
• Written and verbal communication, including interviewing, presentations, facilitation and report writing
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical and healthcare industry issues is desirable
• Knowledge of consulting methodologies, tools and techniques is desirable

The potential base pay range is $89,300 to $222,500 per year, depending on qualifications, location and schedule; incentives, bonuses and benefits may also apply.
