Substitute Group Fitness Instructor – Per Diem

About the role

BAYADA Home Health Care is seeking a Substitute Per Diem Group Fitness Specialist to lead exercise classes for residents in senior living communities in Wayne, NJ. This on‑call position supports the continuum of care by promoting fitness and wellbeing among seniors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead scheduled group exercise classes covering flexibility, cardio, strength, balance and standing exercises.
• Develop and adapt fitness classes to meet the needs of a senior population.
• Be available on short notice for classes on MWF 9‑10 am, 10‑11 am and an additional Friday class each month.

Required profile

• Certification as a Fitness Instructor from an accredited organization (e.g., ACSM, NSCA, ACE, IDEA, SFA) or a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology or related field.
• Minimum one year of experience as a Fitness Specialist, preferably in senior services.
• Solid computer skills; experience with electronic medical records is a plus.

Required skills

• Fitness instruction certification (ACSM, NSCA, ACE, IDEA, SFA).
• Knowledge of senior‑appropriate exercise programming.
• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
