Community Health Worker I/II/III

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking Community Health Workers at three levels (I, II, III) to provide education, resources, and culturally appropriate health outreach to patients and the local community in El Dorado, AR.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct outreach and recruitment of individuals, families, and community groups to health and social services.
• Provide case management, care coordination, and health education, including disease prevention and self‑management support.
• Develop, translate, and adapt educational materials for English‑ and Spanish‑speaking populations.
• Mentor and supervise junior CHWs (Level III) and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on public‑health projects.

Required profile

• High School diploma/GED required for all levels.
• Level I: 2 years of community outreach experience; enroll in certified CHW training within 45 days.
• Level II: Completed CHW certification and 4 years of CHW experience.
• Level III: CHW certification from ARCHWAM, 9 years of experience, and ability to mentor staff.

Required skills

• Fluency in English; Spanish proficiency preferred.
• Strong community‑based participatory research and outreach coordination abilities.
