Community Health Organizer – Multiple Texas Locations

About the role

The Texas A&M University Health Science Center is seeking a Community Health Organizer to support its Opioid Prevention for K‑12 Students (TOPS) program across several Texas cities. The role blends administrative support, community outreach, and curriculum delivery to advance public‑health education.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate administrative tasks and logistics for the TOPS program.
• Engage community partners, schools, and stakeholders to promote opioid‑prevention initiatives.
• Deliver and evaluate curriculum training sessions for K‑12 students.
• Travel independently to multiple sites (Tyler, San Angelo, Amarillo, Victoria, Dallas/Ft Worth) and manage on‑site activities.
• Maintain compliance with university, state, and federal policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Master’s degree in public health or related field is a plus.
• At least four years of experience in public/community relations, event planning, or similar.
• Certified Community Health Worker (CHW) and/or CHW Instructor certification preferred.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Spanish.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time and work beyond normal office hours.

Required skills
