Community Director – Residential Education

About the role

The Community Director for McCarthy Hall leads the residential education program for a vibrant campus community of 225‑600 students. Reporting to Student Affairs, the Director creates a supportive environment that advances students’ academic, personal, and spiritual growth within the Jesuit tradition.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and evaluate Resident Assistants and Resident Fellows.
• Design and implement cultural, educational, and social programs that promote leadership and community building.
• Develop individualized Educational Plans and coordinate with faculty, resident ministers, and campus partners.
• Manage occupancy, safety, and security of the residence, including emergency response and on‑call duty rotation.
• Collaborate with the Georgetown University Police Department and Student Affairs to address mental‑health crises, facility emergencies, and other student concerns.
• Support summer programming, conference services, and intern housing operations.
• Serve as an ambassador for the university’s Residential Living mission and values.
