Communications Intern – UN Sexual Exploitation & Abuse Office

About the role

The Office of the Special Coordinator on Improving the United Nations Response to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (OSCSEA) is seeking a Communications Intern to support its mission of strengthening UN responses to sexual exploitation and abuse worldwide. This is a full‑time, on‑site position in New York for a six‑month period starting October 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research on prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse, including media monitoring and data analysis.
• Assist with internal and external communications initiatives.
• Produce multimedia content such as photos, videos, social‑media graphics, and copy.
• Draft, update, and maintain presentations and other communication materials.
• Perform additional tasks as required by the Communications team.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or recently completed a graduate program, or in the final year of a bachelor’s degree.
• Strong interest in United Nations work and commitment to its Charter ideals.
• Ability to work effectively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Fluency in English; French is desirable.
