Communication Specialist I – Corporate Communications

About the role

GEICO is seeking a Communication Specialist I to manage and execute communications for corporate initiatives. You will create and implement communication strategies, support executive messaging, and develop tools that enable sales and agency teams. The role works closely with senior leaders to ensure clear, engaging, and collaborative communication across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Research, write, and disseminate information about major initiatives.
• Complete recurring, complex, and company‑wide projects as well as ad‑hoc requests.
• Maintain and expand a network of contacts on assigned beats.
• Generate story ideas for associate communications and conduct interviews via phone or email.
• Take photographs or source artwork to illustrate articles.
• Prepare internal newsletters, email content, and other communication vehicles (e.g., Plaza Weekly, event invitations, ICYMI).
• Gather data and materials, write copy, and ensure high‑quality output that meets production deadlines.
• Adhere to GEICO Code of Conduct, company policies, and operating principles.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required; focus in English, journalism, communications, public relations or a related field preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong multitasking skills and capacity to learn large amounts of technical and procedural information.
• Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to meet attendance standards and perform essential functions (seeing, hearing, typing, speaking) with or without accommodation.
