Commercial Security Alarm Technician

About the role

Johnson Controls Federal Systems is seeking a Commercial Security Alarm Technician to install and maintain electronic security systems at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD. This full‑time, onsite position works first‑shift hours, Monday‑Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Install electronic security systems (access control, intrusion detection, camera systems) in compliance with the National Electric Code.
• Program, test, and commission systems such as Lenel Onguard, DMP, Milestone, and ICIDS.
• Coordinate installations with police/fire departments and manage emergency‑call notifications.
• Prepare estimates, conduct end‑user training, and maintain installation records.
• Perform safe work practices, clean up debris, and handle other duties as required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, or repairing commercial/industrial integrated security systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active Department of Defense clearance (preferred).
