Commercial Lender – Banking Loans

About the role

We are seeking a Commercial Lender to join our team in the greater Chicagoland area. The role involves originating, underwriting, and closing commercial loans while managing a portfolio in line with bank policies and regulatory guidelines. You will also develop and service customer relationships, cross‑sell bank products, and represent the bank in the community.

Key responsibilities

• Call on existing customers to retain and expand relationships.
• Develop new prospects and achieve individual loan origination goals.
• Interview borrowers, gather financial statements, and assess collateral.
• Structure, price, and underwrite loans according to bank guidelines.
• Respond to underwriting queries to minimize turnaround time.
• Review loan presentations for compliance before submission.
• Approve loans within delegated limits and recommend others for approval.
• Maintain portfolio quality by collecting past‑due loans and managing renewals.
• Enter sales activities in Salesforce promptly.
• Participate in community and service organizations to enhance the bank’s image.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of commercial lending processes and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent analytical and financial assessment skills.
• Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on compliance and documentation accuracy.
